Julie Moden and Carol Schaubach meet with WCCO-TV promotions
director Tom Cousins to discuss the formation of the Axel and
Carmen Fan Club.
4 January 1965
Tree House Set #12 is created. Axel begins broadcasting
7:00 - 7:30 a.m. Monday - Friday. WCCO-TV has removed its children's
shows from their afternoon time slots, despite their continued
good ratings, because other kinds of programming are more lucrative
in those time periods.
14 January 1965
Julie Moden and Carol Schaubach prepare the first issue of the
Tree House Tribune,
a monthly newsletter about Axel and Carmen, for Tom Cousins.
The inaugural issue is dated February 1965; the newsletter runs
for at least 17 issues.

Clellan, Mary Davies, Harry Jones, Tom Cousins, Julie Moden and
Carol Schaubach meet over lunch to discuss the Axel and Carmen
Fan Club.

Clellan hosts a Caribbean cruise. The group sails to Port-au-Prince
(Haiti), Curacao, and Barbados.
